Being i had no other way to get to work, i called the public bus company and asked where i wait for the bus, what time, and what bus number. they told me to wait on colorado blvd. and 11th Ave. stupid me . . . i went there, but i was waiting [...]

Ahhhh, Shakespeare’s birthday!

I was waiting in mildenhall for the 727 to norwich to arrive to take me back to thetford. It was set to arrive for 11:50, but instead the 696 to london arrived before, as it was also a national express i got confused, so decided to approach the bus driver.

I’ve got problems and more gloves

Sometimes I like to ride the transit bus. It gives me some down time, time to evaluate myself and my problems. I’ve got problems and riding the bus gives me time to try to find, and ask for, solutions. I rarely talk to the other bus people but sometimes someone wants to tell a story, [...]

For Madmen Only

The 74 bus pulled up to the curb and opened its doors in welcome. A few steps took me inside to the warmth and familiarity of the same short trip, made many days at the same hour to pick up my kids at school. I paid my fare with a plastic card and took my [...]

Drivers think you’re a jerk

This happened at Snelling Garage about fifteen years ago. Each garage has several dispatchers who assign the buses to the drivers and make sure that the work gets covered when a driver gets sick, oversleeps or doesn’t make it to work for whatever reason.

She was a toucher!

The 4 was pretty crowded when I got on in downtown and I was forced to stand until we were well into uptown. When I finally got to sit, it was next to a rather attractive woman that lives down the street from me. This, of course, freaked me out and I was [...]

Hopefully minus the insane

Where to begin? I ride the 4 just about everyday to and from work. Generally during the week, the bus is filled with people on their way to their jobs downtown. However, on occasion, you get that random, chatty person who is legally insane.

Chatty Guy

I ride the 663 every morning from Minnetonka to downtown Minneapolis. I have seen the same guy twice every day (inbound and outbound) for the last 2 years. He has become known to some of us as “Chatty Guy.”

Drug-trade lingo

Before my present address I lived in a halfway house for recovering addicts. As required, we all attended a minimum of two meeting a week. On the way to one such meeting, some guys offered to sell my friends some Ecstasy (calling them, I believe, “thizzles” or something). After responding to the offer in the [...]
