Nails flying in all directions

Many years ago (over 30) when I was a college student attending the University of Minnesota, I would take the bus from Northeast Minneapolis to campus (I can’t remember the number). A woman would sit in the front of the bus and clip her fingernails, with the nails flying in all directions. This image has stuck with me all these years–I was always afraid one of the nails would hit me.


Keep your arm inside

The worst thing about riding the 50 down University at rush hour is the Snelling intersection (although right now the construction by the University campus is giving it a run for it’s money). As we were waiting through the 3rd light change, our bus driver decided she wasn’t going to have any more of it saying “Oh hell no, we gotta get through this light!” Continue reading ‘Keep your arm inside’


Metro Transit vs. Campus Circulator

A young woman told the driver she needed to transfer to the 3, and asked what stop she should use. The bus driver was giving her some very convoluted directions–get off at a certain stop, walk a few blocks in a certain direction, etc. etc. She was clearly new in town and looked very uncertain.
