Epic Beard Man
It’s with some hesitation that I post this video, but this is obviously one of the realities of public transit. So with that, and with the disclaimer that BusTales in no way endorses violence, here is a video of the “Epic Beard Man.” Also, please be warned that there is obscene language.
Epic Beard Man’s name is Thomas Bruso, a 67-year-old Vietnam veteran who has already been featured on youtube with his taising by police at an Oakland A’s game. While it’s not clear exactly what happened just from watching the video, it is apparent in the follow-up interview below that Bruso is troubled.

Epic Beard Man (Tom Bruso) may be a bit crazy but it seems that the cornrow guy misheard Bruso’s conversation with a friend, claimed racism, and then pursued Bruso to the front of the bus and started hitting him.
Far from an ideal situation, but at least the instigator is the one who ended up bloody.
And whats with the folks on the bus goading on on the attacker by saying he should “beat his white ass” and calling Bruso “Pinky”? Imagine the races reversed and passengers were yelling “beat his black ass” and calling an African American “blacky”.
Anyhow, it is a reminder of how quickly a situation can escalate. Thanks for posting the video.
