Believe it or not, some drivers spoil their passengers. One such was Jim, who retired about two years ago. I used to relieve him on the 74 and as he got his things together to get off the bus it sounded like the end of a family reunion, what with all the see-you-tomorrows and have-a-good-days.
But one day he got in trouble and he wasn’t even working. He was sick that day so another driver had his route. The passenger who complained thought Jim was driving that day when she reported that he had passed her house ‘even though I had my porch light on.’

I am a driver that normally gives people their vacations. I tend to be nice…sorry. I drop people off where it is convenient and sometimes pick them up at places other than bus stops. I often wonder if the regular drivers come back from vacation and catch heck for not doing the same.
