Poor yellow cord
Today, I was assigned a brand spanking new bus to drive. Ahhhhh, that “New Bus Smell!” Now, this is one of those “short” buses, used on suburban regional rts. Its a glorified Club Wagon. Also known as a “cut-away” basically looks like a Metro Mobility bus, except a little longer.
Instead of the usual “chime” these have a “buzzer” sound when the cord is pulled. I guess the passengers can’t hear the sound in the rear of the bus. One nervous rider kept YANKING the cord! Before I could tell them I’d be stopping at the next stop, he yanked the cord clean out of the socket on the end!
There it was, poor yellow cord, just dangling there, innocent, didn’t even make it through it’s first full day of service!
