Completely and entirely lost
I took the 672 from work - Plymouth -> Minneapolis downtown as I always do. It was a very bad rush hour day so our bus driver decided that we will take back roads instead. Well, back roads led into more back roads and he got completely and entirely lost. 30 minutes later we were driving down a highway that was pitch black and completely traffic free heading somewhere to south Minnesota.
To this day I do not know the name of that highway as none of my ride-mates nor the driver knew, it took him 10 minutes before he had the guts to call bus central and tell them he was lost and he needed help back. Another 20 minutes and we are back on 394, so instead of him continuing track to the downtown area, they asked him to turn around on the highway and go back to Plymouth to sit and just wait. They sent someone else to drive the bus for some unknown reason.
I normally get home at 6:00 p.m. I got home at 7:45. I called and complained and they sent me a free-bus-ride card. It didn’t work with the express line I take and I ended up having to pay the extra 50c.

Haha, didn’t he know he was going to get completely turned around on curvy suburban back roads? Maybe he got bored and wanted a change of scenery.
I had a friend who was on an eastbound 3 that missed the turn down to the river road right after the Washington Ave. bridge. The driver got on the mic and asked “what do I do now?”

I’m always amused when campus-bound express buses miss the turnoff and end up having to go all the way around Cedar-Riverside to get righted again. All the sleepy students start perking up and looking around in dismay and confusion, too shy to ask others what’s going on but exchanging quizzical glances with everybody nonetheless.

Drivers on the 3 miss the turn off of the Washington Avenue bridge more often than you’d think. One of the times it happened, I had been talking to the driver and he showed me his routes for the day - 16, 16, 50, 16, 50…he just forgot that he was driving the 3.
