A true romantic?
So the details on this story are a bit fuzzy since I didn’t discover bus tales till today, but a while back on my bus ride home from downtown, an older gentleman in a wheelchair boarded the bus. Almost immediately he struck up a conversation with a college-aged girl and soon he was saying that he wished he was younger because he really felt they had a connection.
Also he mentioned that he didn’t like “old women” — one time an old women where he lived liked him and came over (implicitly to woo him) and when they sat on the couch the couch started on fire. This was why he didn’t like old women. An older woman in the seat next to me and I were just giggling our heads off because how typical that an old man wouldn’t like an old woman!?
Everytime someone new got on the bus he’d introduce himself and give his number as 9-1-1. Quite the character and entertainer.
I was totally won over by his story about the one time he ever “cheated” on his wife which was when her friend took him to burger king and she kissed him on the cheek. The young girl on the bus asked if he told his wife, and he said of course, and when asked what she did, that she hit him and he never did that again!
