This is a second-hand bus tale, but the source is trustworthy. My friend climbed aboard the 4 last year and as she was scanning the empty seats she noticed one where a bus schedule had been unfolded and draped over the back. There was something scribbled on it. When she walked closer she could read it:

DON’T SIT HERE
POOP

There was an arrow pointing down, and sure enough there was a pile of poop on the seat. Someone was thoughtful enough to make a sign, but apparently not so much that they needed to inform the bus driver of the situation. But hey, at least there was a sign.

While it’s never happened on my bus, I have heard tales from other drivers of a rider having an “involentary” bowel movement. I hear it stinks pretty bad too. I wonder if that wasn’t a plastic pile of poop?
Either way, there are some really sick people out there sometimes!

I was waiting for a night bus in Sydney, Australia once and a guy who was pretty well dressed for a night out was sitting outside against a wall and he had a wet front of his pants and a brown, messy back of pants. He was also covered in vomit. Our bad luck was that he got on our night bus and then proceeded to urinate some more. I alerted the driver before we left and he was taken off by security, but the whole area stunk and the security people had to spray the area with something and then put tape up like the Police Line- Do Not Cross stuff but then the bus took off and the windows did not open and it stunk like human waste and someone decided to spray that god awful boy body spray stuff and it was just horrible. And the urine was still running back and forth on the ground, we had to keep our feet up. Yuck.
