Thump Thump, Flutter Flutter

Thump, thump, thump …… THUMP, ……. THUMP, THUMP.
Flutter, flutter, flutter.

Morning after morning I experience this all to familiar routine as she enters the bus. My heart skips a beat and the butterflies awaken as I adjust my bag into a postion that tells other riders that this seat is taken.

Just as school children take their assigned seats, we to also seek that familiar location, that comforting sound, that familiar smell and smiling face that sets us at ease as we leave one world for another.

Hearing her voice does nothing to calm the butterflies, nothing to slow the heart. Only thhe smell of her perfume, the sound of her voice and her delicate manner bring me back to earth and ground me.

You would think after all these years this would pass, you would think that thid roller coaster ride would come to an end but day after day it continues. Maybe I just enjoy the ride so much I don’t want to get off.
