After waiting about half an hour on St. Patrick’s Day for the 3 to take me and three of my friends from the Como neighborhood into campus for a bar, we watched the bus pick up three people waiting at the stop a half block away and switch on the drop-off only sign.
Bastard.

That’s because he was soooooo far behind schedule he had to go “drop off only” to catch up. What a lot of people don’t understand is…for every minute the bus is late, that is a minute off the drivers break at the end of the line. Sometimes all we get is 5-7 minutes and when you have to walk a block to and from a bathroom in a lot of places…that isn’t much. We would all love to be on time all the time so WE could get a break, but St Patricks Day is basically a no break day for the drivers. The buses are free after 3PM so they are VERY busy. The schedule doesn’t take that into consideration. Sorry, but we do our best!
