The fastest I ever heard anyone get off their cellphone was when the guy in front of me one winter day was on his phone talking to a family member & talking about how he had a bad cold and no kleenex. After I reached over the seat to hand him a package of kleenex (just to be nice, having been in the same fix myself on occasion), he thanked me, told his caller what just happened & said, "I've got to go now, I'm on the bus," & promptly hung up. I hadn't meant to nudge him off the phone, but it sure worked like a charm!

Cell conversations used to drive me crazy, but now not so much. It cracks me up when I hear teenage girls on the phone with their boyfriends. They're either super-mushy or all 'I saw with another girl last night'. Kinda cute, but I wish they could just be a little quieter.

The person on the cell phone doesn't think you are interested in their life, most just don't realize they're bothering you. It's rude, yes, but it's not like they are doing on purpose. To call them lowlifes is a bit much, don't you think?

This is really odd. Usually the 270 is graveyard quiet. But, yes, there is a strong representation of lowlifes among those who use cell phones. A problem is that the one side of the conversation that they are blaring out is so boring, vulgar, ignorant uninteresting. Yet I'm sure such people think we are listening and envying their adventurous lives. Not!

Right on, Kevin. People have no personal boundaries anymore. They think their personal lives are so-o-o fascinating. I think cell phones should be banned on all public transportation. Even more irritating is the the two way walkie talkies where you get to hear both sides of the conversation. Disrespectful indeed!

People who talk on their cell phones on the bus irritate me. No one really cares about your personal story (referring to the person on the cell phone). People have no respect for others these days.
