“Swine-infested” bus
As the swine flu pandemic continues it finally hit the metro bus 21. I was heading to a job interview in the middle of the day so that bus was fairly crowed but I still managed a seat towards the front. As the bus pulls up to the next stop there was a woman standing there who was yelling to the bus driver a special request. Apparently she couldn’t get up the stairs on the bus so she had to use the handicap chair lifts to get her on the bus. As the wheelchair lift finally pulls the woman inside the bus its seen by everyone her swine flu mask.
She swipes her bus pass and continues to touch the railings and handles on the bus and sits down. As she sits on the bus she begins to dig and her bag and pull out a granola bar. She unwraps this granola bar and pulls it out of the package with her bare hands. Let me remind you that she had just got done touching the “swine-infested” bus. She then lifts up her swine flu mask and ingests the swine-flu covered granola bar. Last time I checked the whole purpose of wearing a mask was to keep it on your face and help against the dreaded swine flu.

How do you know she was wearing the mask to protect herself? She may have been sick and trying to prevent passing it on to others.

This post is irritating. Many folks have respiratory issues and can’t breathe the air you and I do daily.
This bird flu / swine flu crap is just that….crap. Flu comes and goes. Life goes on (for those w/ insurance)

I think it is worthy to ask what the F? You got a lot larger issues than the flu if you can’t even walk on the bus – here’s a tip – walk a block or two to the next stop…

Here’s the deal. There is no such thing as a “swine flu mask.” People wear face masks for any number of reasons. Where swine flu is involved, many folks have put on face masks in public places to avoid getting the swine flu from someone else. Someone with swine flu would likely not be feeling well enough to be out and about. The ability to convert the appearance of a face mask to the wearer therefore has swine flu is not just irrational logic, it is a marker of hysteria.
