I ain’t payin today
The day after St. Patrick’s day 2006, a friend and I decided to venture over to the United Center to see the Bulls play the Miami Heat. We were about .75 miles from the United Center when the bus pulled over at a stop where a woman and a man with a personal grocery cart were waiting.
The man with the cart forced the bus driver to flip out the handicapped entrance ramp (which took about 2 minutes) despite an offer from a fellow rider to help lift the cart onto the bus.
Then once on the bus, the woman who had just boarded refused to pay her bus fare. She started shouting “I don’t need to pay my bus fare fool, I pay my bus fare every day. I don’t need to pay today god d****t. You’re stupid, I pay my bus fare every day fool, and I ain’t payin’ today.”
The bus driver refused to get on with her route until either the lady payed her fare or got off the bus, neither of which were about to happen. So we exited the bus and jogged the rest of the way to the United Center.
