Celebratory Dance
Many years ago I was riding the bus to work and, lo and behold! My brother got on. He was not much of a bus rider, plus I hadn’t seen him in awhile, so I was really happy. We started chatting and then I asked him about his new girlfriend (fast forward several years for a couple of seconds: she’s now his wife) and how the relationship was going. He got an earnest and proud look on his face and confided in me that……….he was no longer a virgin. This was huge. This was exciting. This was….a little gross, since it was my bro, but he was so happy and so I was too, and I sort of forgot where I was and leapt into the aisle and started a “you-lost-your-virginity” celebratory dance, complete with lyrics and shouting. Brother was humiliated, sister was sorry, but all in all, I think the other passangers were happy to hear the good news.
