Can’t take a joke?
About thirty years ago a driver reported for work at Snelling Garage and was given the white cane that he had previously turned in to Lost and Found. When he went out to make relief that day he donned dark glasses and boarded the bus using the cane. After he sat in the seat he asked, “Would somebody tell me when the light goes green.” He was reported for the act and fired. It seems that the people who manage Metro Transit [and who spend their lives being a joke] can’t take a joke.

The people that run the transit system are broken:

That does not surprise me; the admin sect of MetroTransit is full of jerkwads. Just try calling and asking why the last three scheduled 5E’s did not show up whatsoever…

Steven, I didn’t get a chance to read through all of the articles, but it did look like Metro Transit changed their policy on bus wraps for the better….maybe things aren’t as broken as you say.
Carzy Fraase, let’s not generalize here, we’ve all had bad days before and been a bit of a jerk on the phone to someone.
On another note, I went to the Metro Transit Commuter Connection office yesterday and had a great experience. I was trying to figure out the fastest way to bus from one place to another as well as look into parking options for downtown Minneapolis. They were very friendly and helpful.

Yeahhhhh, we’ve all been jerks on the phone, but it’s different when it’s your job to work a call center. I know, I’ve been there. You have to put on a happy face in customer service positions.
Those over the window ads are terrible! I never know where I am, until I move to a handicapped seat to see out the front - which is not where I should be.

Hi Rett,
Well just maybe they read my bus wrap article and changed the policy in February. http://www.tc.umn.edu/~hause011/article/Bus_ride11.html
Also maybe they read the article I did on usability testing bus comfort and announced re-upholstering 180 buses.
Both of these problems have been around about 6-8 years and I just hit Google page one with “metro transit” lately with my articles, then they change. Could be coincidence.

I remember that, The agency blew it out of proportion. We have lousy managment, its quite the hostile work place.
