Any milk in that digit?
I was riding in the back of the No. 10 down Central Avenue the other day on the way to downtown Minneapolis very early in the morning. A woman got on with a little girl who looked to be about 5 or 6 years old.
Nothing seemed strange about them. They sat quietly next to each other and seemed almost catatonic. Then I looked at the woman, who I guess was about 25 years old. At first I thought she was just resting her chin on her fist, but upon closer examination it almost looked like her thumb was in her mouth.
No it couldn’t be. I was just looking at her at a weird angle, right?? Well, she took her hand away from her face for a moment, but then just a couple seconds later, BAM, she crammed that thumb back deep into her mouth. Yup, she was sucking her thumb - and I mean SUCKING. I don’t know if she got any milk out of that digit, but she certainly gave it a go.
The little girl paid no attention, apparently the big girl of the two.
