Orange, come back home

One day I was merrily riding to work on the 17 with my gym tote, purse, and lunch bag in tow. I had chosen a seat on the vertical bench seats in back to allow myself extra room and since there was no one sitting on my left side, I used the space to set my paraphernalia. I got out my book (I was reading Wicked at the time, and due to the fact that I read slower than the illiterate, I’m still reading it – 10 months later) and started losing myself in the pages. Door Taco

I’m a driver, and was doing the 4 line on this particular day, which just so happened to be New Year’s Day. Happy to have survived driving on New Year’s Eve in a snowstorm with throngs of drunken motorists on the road, I thought that my New Year’s Day work would be a Sunday drive. I was quite wrong. Pink Safety Scissors

Several years ago, I was riding the 180 at 1am (this route used to serve downtown and the Mall of America, but has since been replaced by the Hiawatha Line). Heading back from the Mall of America on an articulated bus an older man, presumingly drunk, decided he had enough with Metro Transit and pulled out a pair of pink safety scissors (the plastic ones that make even paper seem strong). I hope your face is alright

I usually am the last person to get off my bus on the way home, but every once and a while there is someone that gets off on my stop.

Being an impatient fellow I usually stand up while the bus is moving and work my way to the front of the bus. However since there was two of us in the back of the bus I decided to follow her towards the back exit for a change. Continue reading ‘I hope your face is alright’
