Bus Buddies

I’ve been riding the express from East Lake Street to downtown St Paul for a few years now. Now it is the 53B, prior to that was a 90 something. I’ve met such nice people on the bus, we have a group that we named “Bus Buddies” we do things together, get together to celebrate birthdays and go out for dinner. Continue reading ‘Bus Buddies’

Broken Glass Theory

It is not just the “face” of the Neighborhood, but a public health issue. Continue reading ‘Broken Glass Theory’

Music for everyone

Somehow my ipod decided to delete all of it’s music. Fortunately for me, on this morning’s bus ride the guy sitting to my left was blasting his headphones loud enough that I got to enjoy almost all of disc 1 of Tupac’s “All Eyez on Me.” I’m not being sarcastic, I actually enjoyed it. My only beef was that just as I was starting to get into “How do you want it” featuring K-Ci & Jojo on the chorus, he switched to the next song. I wonder what would happen if their was a shared playlist on the bus (any rider could add songs to the queue) and the music was played over the speakers?

Massive Loogie

This happened several years ago, but I remember it very clearly. I was listening to my headphones when I heard a loud hacking sound (loud enough to cut into Foo Fighter’s Monkey wrench at full blast). The guy in front of me then opened his window and spit. I wish that’s where it ended, but the wind was blowing just so, and his massive loogie landed directly on my window. I had to sit there for 15 minutes while that wad stared at me, spreading out and eventually freezing. I still have nightmares.
